ENV SP Climate Acton Program

The ENV SP Climate Action Program is a first-of-its-kind learning pathway that connects professional sustainable infrastructure training with hands-on nature-based climate action.

Participants earn their ENVISION Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) designation, Certificate of Completion from Beyond21 Academy, their first two years of professional development hours (PDHs) and a pathway to the Climate Leadership Program.

Most programs end when the course is complete. This program continues through implementation, measurement, and long-term climate action. Participants leave with a professional credential, practical climate-action experience, and a living project that contributes to the resilience of their projects and communities.

Climate Leadership Pathway

01

ENV SP Designation

Earn the internationally recognized ENV SP designation through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and build a strong foundation in sustainable infrastructure, climate resilience, leadership, and the Envision Framework.

02

ENVISION NbCS

Earn a Certificate of Completion and PDHs through Beyond21 Academy's self-paced online course title "ENVISION Nature-based Climate Solution". Learn Miyawaki pocket forest principles, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, site assessment, species selection, and design fundamentals to prepare for implementing your own pocket forest.

03

Engineering with Nature

This is where the real fun begins! At this point, you'll tackle your own design using the methodology learned in the online course and resources available through Beyond21 Academy's Pocket Forest Hub. You'll also be teamed up with designated Climate Leader from Beyond21 Academy who will help with you design, calculation and set you up for success in the next stage.

04

Constructing with Nature

With your design in hand - you'll implement your own Pocket Forest during the next planting season. The implementation can be at your own project site, a community location, or at Beyond21 Academy's Living Lab. You'll have the support of a Climate Leader to set up the measurement and monitoring in the Pocket Forest Hub.

05

Measuring Climate Impact

A year after you've planted your Pocket Forest, you'll collect critical data to ensure your installation is healthy and will deliver meaning carbon sequestration long-term. With your Beyond21 Academy toolkit in hand, you'll update your unique tracking page on the Pocket Forest Hub that are part of the community of climate action projects.
