Overview
The Climate Leadership Program (CLP) is a structured, experiential pathway designed to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and implementation experience required to advance nature-based climate solutions—grounded in pocket forest learning and delivery. Foundational Knowledge The first stage of the program involves completing online, asynchronous "Getting Started with Pocket Forests" course. This two hour course will provide you with the foundational knowledge of climate action through nature-based solutions (NbS). Experiential Learning Once you're completed the online course, you can join one of our in-person Climate Action through Carbon Sequestration in-person course at our Living Lab. The three hour experiential course will guide you through the design and installation of a pocket forest including understand carbon sequestration mechanisms, measurements, and implementation opportunities. Meeting of Minds For those keen to take their knowledge and action to the next level will join the Climate Leadership Retreat, a multi-day event with lectures, workshops, and guest speakers. This immersive experience will focus on the role of climate leaders to take meaningful climate action in their work and their communities - earning the unique distinction of Climate Leader. Making an Impact Climate Leaders make up the collection of individuals that have completed the full program (online course, in-person course, and retreat). These individuals have the opportunity to engage with Beyond21 Academy to support future classes as teaching assistants, support research and knowledge sharing as researchers, as well as use the knowledge to conduct work in their communities or for their organizations with Beyond21 Academy resources.
