For all of those who have completed the Circular Economy program, you can appreciate the strong connection between circular economy thinking and climate action. In fact, it is critical that circular economy initiatives lead directly to climate action and meaningful reductions in emissions, sequestration, and climate adaptation.
With that in mind, we thought that we need to create a tangible program that supports Circular Economy for Climate Action.
In collaboration with Mohawk College's School of Climate Action, we are launching a reverse trade show in the coming year. We announced this at the PIVOT Conference last week with the plans that the Reverse Trade Show and the PIVOT Conference will compliment on another in 2025.
The idea is simple - when you think of a trade show you imagine booths of vendors selling products and services to consumers or other business who are walking the trade show floor. A 'reverse' trade show will have companies bring their byproducts and challenges for display with students, entrepreneurs, and other companies looking for ways to incorporate these byproducts into existing operations or new products.
Our goal is to reduce carbon emissions, reduce waste, and to valorize the by-products of companies.
